about
The title is a twist on a line I found humorous in The Lord of the Rings (book, not the movie). At one point in the journey to Mount Doom, Sam calls Gollum a "piece of misery." With my twist on the line, I wrote lyrics about finding peace in one's own misery.
lyrics
Wake up on a Sunday morning early to a rising breeze
Is that a glimmer of hope I see?
No, I’ve been deceived
I’m the one who always tries
No need to sympathize
Now’s the time find my inner peace of misery
There is no hope in life
Full speed ahead into another mind game that I can’t win
Trapped in an invisible prison but I don’t know how I got in
Meditate on my demise
Deep down it satisfies
No leavin’ until I find my peace of misery
Could it be that my only hope lies in death?
Leave the past behind me
Don’t look back now that I’m free
Till the day you take your very last breath
You can run, but you can’t hide
From your peace of misery
When I’m stone cold drunk and feeling fine
I see old things in a whole new light
I can’t make sense of life
I don’t know why I try
There’s just one thing that keeps occurring to me
(Sing it!)
3x There is no hope in life
You just live once so don’t think twice
